Bentley EXP 9 F Concept SUV // Luxury Off The Roads
Coming up with an SUV was probably one of the last things I expected from Bentley. And I really have to admit, though this surely will be a state of the art luxury car with some soft off-road skills, I really don’t get it.
The Bentley EXP 9 F Concept SUV was revealed during the 82nd International Motor Show in Geneva and might become a natural progression of Bentley’s all-wheel drive Continental range.
Since you’re still reading you might not be an environmentalist and I’m sure you agree, the choice of an 6.0 litre, twin turbocharged W12 engine with an 8 speed transmission sounds absolutely great.
The chance to create a completely new type of Bentley is pretty rare and from the very beginning, the design team had a clear vision for the new SUV. Dirk van Braeckel, Director of Design, explains it this way: “EXP 9 F had to represent the absolute pinnacle of the sport utility sector, setting a new benchmark for this type of vehicle. The style had to reflect Bentley’s sporting character despite its radically different package and purpose together with sculptured, flowing surfaces in keeping with the Bentley tradition.”
As mentioned before, I really don’t get it. From my point of view, this is might be a Bentley, but this is not what I have in mind, when I think about this brand. Be warned Bentley guys, I won’t buy it.
